Barbie O'Connor spends most of her time helping other people manage their money. During the seventeen years as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, she managed over $100 million for her clients.
When she retired as a vice-president in 1995, she went on to run an Indy Car team whose car raced in the 1995 and 1996 Indianapolis 500 races. Since then she has served on community boards and given seminars on basic money management.
Learning about money and how to handle it can be interesting and exciting when you have the right teacher.
Over the years, Barbie has spoken to university classes, women's clubs, alumni groups, book clubs, high school students, as well as meetings of local chambers of commerce.
Barbie can tailor-make a presentation for your group or situation that helps you understand money, savings, and how the financial system works and how you can make it work for you. There is no magic formula, but there are hundreds of things we do every day that eventually add up to money smarts.
